DEAR SELF: QUIT DOING THE BARE MINIMUM~~~AGHARA JOIN PAUL

Photo from I'm Possible 2019 Conference

I'm very sure that you wouldn’t want your mechanic doing the bare minimum required to make your family car safe to drive. You wouldn’t want a surgeon doing the bare minimum needed to keep your heart pumping. You wouldn’t even want the chef at your favorite restaurant doing the bare minimum to ensure the food you’re eating is safe to consume. Else you wouldn't come back again I bet.

You expect people to go above and beyond in whatever they do and I expect myself to do same too 😁. You want people to go the extra mile for you, in situations when your life depends on it and otherwise. You want to know that people care about their craft and care about you, right? I know I do. Yet today in a conversation with a fellow entrepreneur, I noticed a troubling trend in the workforce and entrepreneurship right now, and it all has to do with two things: Effort and Reward. Too many people believe that you should be lavishly rewarded simply for putting in the effort -- any amount of effort. Let's dive into it a bit more.

It seems silly when you read it, but for some reason, that’s how we’ve trained ourselves to think: “Because I went through the motions, I now deserve a reward.” And in case you suggest I might be exaggerating, this entire post is based on a conversation I had with a friend and fellow entrepreneur. He told me a story about an employee of his that asked, “Hey, so if I start showing up to work on time, do you think I can get a raise?” It’s a toxic way of approaching life and work. We laughed about it but it breaks my heart that people would just think this way about their work and life.

That's why I want you to join me in saying goodbye to “the bare Minimum".
People with this attitude use it as an excuse for just being lazy.
Here are three ways to keep the bare minimum from creeping into your life and your work.

1. Ask yourself: "Am I Proud of this?"
2. Act like Your Reputation Depend on it.
3. Treat Everyday like it is your last.

It's a New Year. New Season. New Opportunities. New Life & Hope to challenge the mountains our heart desires. Yes! In the new season many will have to wait till all the dots are connected before they take a move to pursue that desire burning deep down. THE MASTER ART OF PRESIDENT G.E. JONATHAN TO ENTHRONE APC IN BAYELSA

The role played by former President Goodluck Jonathan to propel the All Progressives Congress (APC) to victory at the just concluded governorship election in Bayelsa State has divided the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. While most PDP stalwarts insisted that Jonathan should not be blamed for the defeat of the PDP, others believe that the former President authored the script that ousted his party from the state. But party leaders said that the alleged greed, selfishness and autocratic leadership style of the state Governor, Seriake Dickson, compelled Jonathan to take a back seat in the affairs of the PDP before and during the last Saturday election. A party leader, who spoke in confidence, described blaming Jonathan for the defeat of the PDP as begging the question. He said: “Nobody should mention Jonathan’s name. We were all witnesses when Dickson and some of his co-travelers vowed to retire Jonathan from politics. Dickson took all decisions alone. He in...
